Roofglaze provides natural light for South Wales' firefighters
The installations feature a variety of Roofglaze modular polycarbonate rooflights including access hatches and AOVs, as well as a number of continuous barrel vault rooflights from the company’s range which includes solid and structured ploycarbonate glazing.
Roofglaze has established a successful working relationship with Monmouthshire Council, resulting in the direct, customer specification of Roofglaze units for the Fire Stations.
Barry Appleby, National Sales Manager for Roofglaze, explains: “Obviously, compliance and safety are at the top of the priority list for local authorities choosing any building products, so it goes without saying that the Roofglaze units meet the required specification. However, we believe that their decision to choose Roofglaze has as much to do with the support and expertise provided by the company – and our willingness to work closely with their specified roofing suppliers.”
During the course of the programme, Roofglaze has worked with a number of roofing suppliers including Garland Roofing, Index and Liquid Plastics.
One of the most recent Fire Stations to undergo roof refurbishment is at Malpas in Newport, Gwent. At this site, twenty three RG Econolite triple skin polycarbonate domes on 300mm high uPVC upstands have been installed, including one access hatch.
The domes on the Youth Services building at the station were installed by Springvale Weatherproofing. Their Director, Rob Rowlands said: “Roofglaze domes are high quality units and meet the required U-values. We encountered no problems - and they were delivered to site on time and in perfect condition.”
The domes on the appliance bay were installed by Span Roofing.
Based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, Roofglaze Limited is a leading supplier of glass and polycarbonate rooflights and skylights, with a complete range from modular domes and pyramids, to continuous barrel vaults, ridgelights, lantern lights and bespoke designs.
