Roofglaze Nanogel® - the new breed of 'super rooflights'

Roofglaze Limited has introduced a new range of rooflights featuring Nanogel – a free-flowing translucent granular material comprising hydrophobic silica-based particles. This is placed in the cavities within polycarbonate multiwall glazing, to provide major performance gains over conventional rooflights in a number of key areas.

Thermal insulation is greatly improved, with U values of 1.31 W/m2K for 16mm glazing and only 0.89 W/m2K for 25mm glazing – providing outstanding energy efficiency, making Part L compliance easier than ever.

Roofglaze Nanogel® rooflights offer excellent light transmission and diffusion characteristics, providing  well-lit high quality internal environments without ‘hot spots’ or defined shadows.

Acoustic insulation is greatly improved too, with a 50% reduction at 1,000 Hz.

The extremely low weight of Roofglaze Nanogel® glazing allows a high degree of application freedom, with rooflights weighing in at approximately 10% to 15% of the weight of thermally equivalent glass alternatives.

The first Roofglaze Nanogel® rooflights have already been successfully installed on a variety of applications, including schools, commercial buildings and supermarkets.
