ER Residence stands as a testament to the harmonious interplay between architecture and its natural surroundings, a testament to thoughtful design and sustainable principles.
The architects’ first stroke of brilliance lies in their choice of a contemporary brick façade that seamlessly integrates with the existing neighborhood’s aesthetic while introducing vertical slatted timber elements that mirror the surrounding nature. This marriage of materials bridges the gap between urban sophistication and organic charm.
The residence’s spatial symphony unfolds as rooms are artfully positioned around intimate courtyards. This architectural choreography not only fosters a symbiotic indoor-outdoor relationship but also imparts a sense of openness to the living spaces, echoing the expansiveness of the landscape.
Within this canvas of refined design, muted contemporary furnishings emerge as a canvas on which architectural elements and outdoor vistas paint a vivid narrative. A harmonious palette of premium materials, including the warmth of polished concrete floors, orchestrates a sensory feast that resonates with both elegance and comfort.
Firstly, the architects chose to complement the existing properties on the street with a contemporary brick façade that beautifully teams with vertical slatted timber, echoing the natural surroundings.
Secondly, the architects cleverly arranged the large rooms around compact courtyards to allow for a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. This design choice ensures that the living spaces remain open and spacious.
Thirdly, the architects opted for muted contemporary furnishings that draw attention to modern architectural design and outside views. They complimented the beautiful wood grain throughout the property with a palette of premium materials, including polished concrete floors.
Finally, the architects separated the living spaces cleverly with two external Zen gardens, which act as stunning focal points for the living and kitchen area. They also designed a private sitting area at the bottom of the garden, which is ideal for the homeowners to sit and relax while taking in the stunning views over Bearsden.
We specify high-spec Roofglaze rooflights to maximize light and space in the property, reduce heat loss, and allow maximum solar gain. The architects incorporated our rooflights throughout the property, introducing natural light to brighten areas that would usually be darker.
The selection of high-spec Roofglaze rooflights is a testament to our commitment to maximizing both light and space within the property. By harnessing the power of these rooflights, we not only elevate the aesthetics but also reduce heat loss while ushering in the full splendor of solar gain.
The architects’ astute incorporation of Roofglaze rooflights is a masterstroke that redefines the dynamics of light within the property. Traditionally darker areas are illuminated with the gift of natural light, transforming corners that were once shadowed into inviting spaces brimming with vitality.
Take, for example, the walnut stairs that ascend to the bedrooms—a rooflight above them orchestrates a symphony of light that infuses the journey with a sense of ethereal ascent. The first-floor bedroom, elevated to a realm of elegance, finds itself bathed in the embrace of sunlight filtered through a generous rooflight. This illumination is further enriched by the luxury brass fixtures and fittings that stand as a testament to the meticulous attention to detail.
For instance, the walnut stairs leading to the bedrooms have a rooflight above them. Moreover, a large rooflight enhances the elegant bedroom with an ensuite bathroom on the first floor, and luxury brass fixtures and fittings complement the room.
Our rooflights were also used in the large, modern kitchen, flooding the kitchen island below with natural daylight. Additionally, the impressive kitchen space includes state-of-the-art built-in appliances and impeccable functional details.
In conclusion, the ER Residence is an exceptional home, designed with the owner’s needs in mind. The architects achieved a contemporary design that delivers beauty, elegance, comfort, and sustainability.
