Access Flatglass & AOV Smoke Vents

Roofglaze’s range of Access Flatglass units are designed to be an elegant solution for the provision of both natural ventilation and roof access, as well as the brilliant daylight and excellent thermal performance that our Flatglass rooflights are known for. We can supply these rooflights in either Electric or Manual hinged format, as well as offering an AOV Smoke Vent for BS EN 12101-2 compliance.

Skyway Flatglass Rooflights (24v Electric Access)

Our Electric Flatglass Access Hatches are double glazed as standard. Powered by two 24v actuators, these units can open up to 90o for excellent ventilation and ease of access to roof terraces. The minimum kerb span for these units is 900mm.

Skyway Flatglass Electric Access rooflights are available in the following sizes:

Square: from 900mm x 900mm up to 1300mm x 1300mm (as standard)
Rectangular: up to 1300mm x 2900mm (as standard)

Security

  • Mechanically sealed

Options

  • Control unit with battery back-up available
  • Choice of switches, wind, rain and temperature sensors
  • Synchronised opening mechanism
  • Fireman’s switch
  • Larger sizes can be accommodated via special order
  • We can supply bespoke glass specifications to meet your project requirements

Please note that Flatglass rooflights can be installed flat, but to avoid water pooling on the rooflight we recommend a minimum pitch of 5° if possible.

Flatglass AOV Smoke Vent Rooflights

Roofglaze’s Flatglass AOV Smoke Vents have been thoroughly and independently tested to achieve BS EN 12101-2 compliance, catering for both natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation.

The Flatglass AOV Smoke Vent rooflight is available in two standard sizes, which achieve an Aerodynamic Free Area of either 1.0m² or 1.5m².

It provides an aesthetically-pleasing solution, which is a key feature of our Flatglass range, without compromising the health and safety of the building’s occupants.

Manual Access Hatch Rooflights

Our Manual Flatglass Access Hatch rooflights are also double glazed as standard. Featuring fully-concealed gas rams, these units are able to open up to 80o and are often installed to allow regular access to roof terraces via internal staircases, which opens up new development possibilities.

They are also frequently specified to provide access to roof areas for maintenance. The minimum kerb span for these units is 650mm.

Flatglass Manual Access rooflights are available in the following sizes:

Square: up to 1200mm x 1200mm (as standard)

Security

  • Yale shoot bolt locking mechanism

Options

  • Larger sizes can be accommodated via special order
  • We can supply bespoke glass specifications to meet your project requirements
