Why Choose Skyway Complete

Skyway Complete is our complete rooflight system. Incorporating a fully insulated, high-performance timber upstand with our industry-leading rooflight frame, Skyway Complete features several benefits.

Firstly Skyway Complete is quick and easy to install and only requires your installer to create the structural opening in the roof. The timber upstand is made to measure to ensure a perfect fit between the roof opening and the rooflight, increasing weather and air tightness when correctly weathered by your installer.

The use of high-performance insulation means that the combined u-value of the rooflight exceeds the requirements of Approved Document L. By purchasing a complete rooflight system you can easily demonstrate compliance with Part L to building control.

In addition to high-performance insulation, every Skyway Complete rooflight incorporates high-quality materials designed to improve thermal performance helping you to save money on your energy bills. Our aluminium frame includes a thermal break, ensuring no cold bridging to the outside environment and every rooflight comes with Marine Grade powder coating as standard.

Finally, Skyway Complete rooflights include a plasterboard termination bar ensuring a perfect finish to the top of your wall. This also has the added benefit of improving the thermal performance of the rooflight.

In summary, Skyway Complete Fixed flatglass rooflights offer industry-leading performance in a cost-effective, quick, and easy-to-install product. Why choose anything else?

Easy installation

Our prefabricated timbers upstands make Skyway Complete quick and simple to install. Each upstand comes flat-packed and ready for assembly on-site which reduces installation time and cost.

Each rooflight includes an inbuilt plasterboard termination bar which allows for seamless integration into the building. Designed to allow the plasterboard to slot into the rooflight frame this provides a high-quality finish to the ceiling line with the added benefit of improved thermal performance.

A standout feature of each Skyway Complete rooflight is the built-in plasterboard termination bar, strategically integrated for seamless integration into the building. This innovative design allows the plasterboard to effortlessly slot into the rooflight frame, creating a flawless and high-quality finish to the ceiling line. Beyond aesthetics, this integration also contributes to improved thermal performance, enhancing the energy efficiency of the building.

By opting for a Skyway Complete rooflight, you not only simplify the installation process but also mitigate the risks associated with errors in upstand construction. You are investing in a factory-produced, high-quality product that ensures each installation is completed with the utmost safety and security in mind. With Skyway Complete, you can have confidence in the reliability and performance of your rooflights, elevating the overall quality and functionality of your building project.

Made to Measure

Incorrectly built upstands are a common issue for installers and homeowners alike. By purchasing a combined rooflight and upstand you can take the guesswork out of your installation. Simply form the structural aperture in your roof and give Roofglaze the sizes and let us do the rest. We will ensure our upstand will fit your roof and your new rooflight perfectly.

With this approach, the guesswork is eliminated from your installation process. All you need to do is create the structural aperture in your roof, providing the necessary dimensions to Roofglaze, and let our experienced team handle the rest. We will custom-design the upstand to precisely fit your roof and the selected rooflight, ensuring a perfect fit and seamless integration.

This hassle-free approach not only saves time and effort but also offers peace of mind, knowing that your rooflight and upstand will be a precise match. It’s a smart choice for ensuring a smooth and trouble-free installation, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of your rooflight without the headache of incorrect upstand construction.

Weather resistance

Your upstand is a critical element in preventing water ingress to your roof. Leaks are a common issue with poorly constructed upstands. The use of incorrect materials will allow water to penetrate and cause damage over time. Our factory-constructed upstands use high-quality materials and precise construction to ensure a perfect fit reducing the likelihood that water will enter the roof space. Furthermore, each upstand includes a 5-degree pitch to aid in water dispersion.

A fully weathered kerb will stand the test of time reducing the need for frequent repairs and protecting your property and your investment.

Airtightness is another important consideration as is heat loss. Through incorrectly constructed and installed upstands can be significant. Air infiltration can cause cold spots on the inner glass surface which can lead to condensation and, in time, allow mould to form. All Skyway Complete rooflights come with preinstalled draught-proof gaskets and are manufactured to ensure a good fit and excellent draught resistance.

Compliance with building regulations

Approved Document L- Conservation of Fuel and Power (2021 Edition)came into effect in England on 15th June 2022. This revised document stipulates that rooflights in new or existing dwellings should meet a limiting value of 2.2 W/(m2â‹…K). All Skyway Complete rooflights feature a kerb assembly that exceeds this requirement. If your installer constructs their kerb on site this must have a maximum U-value of 0.35 W/(m2â‹…K) and you need to be able to provide evidence of this to building control. The simplest way to ensure compliance with Part L is to purchase a combined rooflight and kerb assembly from Roofglaze.

For those instances where installers choose to construct their kerb on-site, it’s imperative that the kerb assembly achieves a maximum U-value of 0.35 W/(m2â‹…K). To adhere to these standards, it’s essential to provide evidence of compliance to building control. To simplify the process and ensure seamless compliance with Part L, the easiest and most reliable solution is to acquire a combined rooflight and kerb assembly from Roofglaze.

Additionally, Skyway Complete rooflights are designed with security in mind. They are available with a laminated inner pane and non-reversible screws, aligning with the requirements outlined in Approved Document Q Security in Dwellings. This comprehensive approach not only ensures compliance with energy efficiency regulations but also addresses security concerns, offering homeowners peace of mind regarding both safety and energy conservation.

Customizable sizes

Skyway Complete can be manufactured in a range of different sizes, shapes and glass specifications. Our glass options include solar control, laminated glass or non-fragile specifications.

Furthermore, the glass specifications are equally flexible. These options empower you to make informed decisions that align with your project’s goals.

When it comes to the frame, we offer the freedom to manufacture it in various shapes and sizes. This design flexibility ensures that your dream design can be brought to life. Skyway Complete is compatible with different types of roofs, including flat, pitched, and metal roofs. Compatibility with various roof types is an essential feature, as it ensures that the rooflights can be installed on a wide range of roofs whilst still providing excellent weatherproofing and air tightness.

This adaptability is particularly valuable when considering that various roofing materials may be used for different architectural projects. The compatibility of Skyway Complete with diverse roofing materials means that you do not need to compromise on style or material choice. Whether you prefer traditional tiles, modern metal, or any other roofing material, you can be confident that Skyway Complete can be installed without damaging the roof surface or compromising its integrity.

In essence, Skyway Complete empowers you with the freedom to choose the roofing material and style that best suits your project’s aesthetics and functional requirements. This adaptability ensures that your design vision can be realized without any limitations, and the rooflights seamlessly integrate with the roof type and material of your choice, preserving both style and performance.

Fully Intergrated to the roof structure

Skyway Complete is installed into the roof structure which helps prevent leaks and helps prolong the lifespan of the roof. By incorporating the upstand and rooflight into a complete unit installers can quickly weatherproof the kerb creating a weathertight seal between the various components.

This protection is achieved by incorporating the upstand and rooflight into a complete unit. This approach simplifies the installation process, allowing installers to quickly and effectively weatherproof the kerb. The result is a weathertight seal that ensures a seamless connection between all the components, reducing the risk of leaks and water ingress.

Furthermore, the choice of a fully insulated upstand, custom-manufactured to perfectly suit the rooflight, offers additional benefits in terms of thermal performance. This synergy between the upstand and the rooflight contributes to the overall energy efficiency of your roof. It helps lower heating costs by minimizing heat loss through the roof, ultimately saving you money over the lifespan of the product.

In essence, Skyway Complete is not just an architectural element; it’s an integral part of your roof’s efficiency and longevity. It offers the peace of mind of a weathertight seal while delivering enhanced thermal performance, making it a smart investment for both the present and the future of your property.
